Reserva Nacional Tambopata

Transfer to Cusco airport and then board the Cusco-Puerto Maldonado flight.

Reception at Puerto Maldonado airport and boat trip from the port to the Native Community of Infierno.

Visit to the Canopy Tower, which offers spectacular views of the Tambopata River and the treetops and allows for bird watching.

Accommodation at Posada Amazonas lodge in a classic room.

Reserva Nacional Tambopata

Second day in the Tambopata National Reserve.

After breakfast, we will depart for a visit to Tres Chimbadas Lake, reached after a 30-minute boat ride and a 45-minute hike. Here, it is possible to spot caimans, birds, and the giant river otter family. We will have lunch and head to the Ñape Center, a community organization that produces medicines using local medicinal plants. While the plants are used medicinally, they are also used for other purposes, such as construction and transportation. We will take a night walk to observe most of the mammals that are rarely seen during the day.

Reserva Nacional Tambopata

Breakfast and departure to the Parrot Farm, just twenty minutes from the lodge.

The farms are clay cliffs where colorful parrots and macaws gather to feed on the minerals they need to thrive.

Next, a hike to observe the ceibas, a tropical tree species.

Lunch and navigation to the most comprehensive farm in the Infierno community.
