Arriving in Cusco
Cusco is the main gateway to the Sacred Valley. Most travelers arrive by plane, usually via Lima, before continuing their journey to Urubamba by road.
If you arrive late in the day, we recommend spending one night in Cusco in order to travel comfortably the following morning.
From Cusco to Urubamba
Urubamba is located in the Sacred Valley, approximately 1 hour 15 minutes to 1 hour 45 minutes from Cusco, depending on traffic conditions.
Recommended options:
- Private transfer (recommended): comfortable, direct, and ideal when traveling with luggage.
- Estimated duration: 1h15–1h45
- Taxi or private transport service: flexible and easy to arrange.

- Shared transport (collectivo): more economical, with variable comfort and schedules.

Tip: If you arrive in Cusco in the evening, it is preferable to travel to Urubamba the next morning.
